The Natural Diamond Council (NDC) works with five outstanding, emerging Chinese jewellery designers to present an exquisite virtual world of wonder of nature: “Natural Diamond Wonderland”. The nature-inspired virtual world allows diamond lovers to interact with 360 holographic and 3D natural diamond jewelleries. The immersive experience at finger tips offers them to view in close up 20 originally designed natural diamond jewelleries for the five emerging Chinese designers.
The “Natural Diamond Wonderland” launched by Natural Diamond Council (NDC) to help inspire the desire of Natural Diamond jewelleries amongst consumers especially those young generations. It showcases the incredible creativity of young Chinese jewellery designers, while exhibiting luxurious fine jewellery and uncovering the glamour of daily diamond jewellery to ignite passion for natural diamonds, creating a glorious diamond filled fantasy world for the public.
Through these interactive experiences, consumers can explore the 3D rendered fine jewellery pieces and the inspirational story behind each of them with a 360 immersive perspective, allowing everyone to appreciate the glamor and preciousness of natural diamonds.
Emerging Designers of “Natural Diamond Wonderland”
With extensive experience in the jewellery industry, these young designers blend their reverence and enthusiasm for nature into their designs to create fantastically artistic natural diamond jewelleries. Here are the five young jewellery designers:
Ciga Long: Eastern aesthetic jewellery designer, founder of the jewellery brand CIGALONG and Alumni of Le Arti Orafe Jewelry School & Academy in Florence, Italy. The first Chinese designer awarded the international jewellery award at the Firenze Biennale and also selected for the 2019 Forbes China 30 under 30 list.
Shuyu Chen: Founder of Gem Code, has lived in France for the past 10 years. After graduating from the prestigious Haute École de Joaillerie in Paris, she worked for Chanel and Boucheron Paris HQ as a senior jewellery designer. In 2018, she was awarded the Talents d’Or prize from the l’Union Française de la Bijouterie, Joaillerie, which was presented by former Prime Minister of France, Mr. Jean-Pierre Raffarin. In 2020, she was the gem bracelet group champion of the HRD International Diamond Jewelry Design Competition.
Mingming Liu: Founder and chief designer of Dashu Jewelry, member of the Gem & Jewelry Trade Association of China. Tiangong Awards Best Design and Tiangong Refined Design special award in the first China jewellery design competition.
Danyi Zhu: Founder of Mistova Jewelry, alumni of Royal College of Art (RCA) in London, UK, her graduation project won the Best Jewellery Design award at the RCA and she was nominated for the Helen Hamlyn Centre design award. She has been recognized by the Katonah Museum of Art, New York as an iconic “21st century jewellery” artist.
Weiyang Chen: Founder of Erdong Jewelry, alumni of China Academy of Art. In 2020, he won the Independent Designer’s Creative Piece of the Year from Bazaar Jewelry. His work has been sold at the China Guardian’s 2020 autumn auction and 2021 Poly Auction in Hong Kong. He was also granted the title of global ancient coin collector by Bulgari Paris.
“Natural Diamond Wonderland” Curating Masters
In order to offer consumers an in depth experience of the virtual world of “Natural Diamond Wonderland”, and better appreciating the exquisite natural diamond jewellery designs, NDC has invited 2 international Chinese Creative Gurus as diamond jewellery cruating masters: Ms. Anna Hu, and Mr. Tim Yip.
As a designer who “uses classical music to create jewellery art”, Ms. Anna Hu has played the cello since she was a child. She is the founder of high jewellery ANNA HU. She is the only student of the legendary jewellery designer Maurice Galli. Madonna also once claimed that the jewellery she designs are incomparably exquisite artworks that exude a truly unique temperament.
Mr. Tim Yip has won numerous awards including an Oscar, Golden Globe, Hong Kong Film Award, and Golden Horse Award. He was also the first Chinese Oscar winner for Art Direction, for Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. He applies his talents in aesthetics and visual art to interpreting the dazzling natural diamond jewellery presented in the “Natural Diamond Wonderland”.
Mabel Wong McCormick, Managing Director, Greater China, NDC explained that people now have a much deeper affection for nature, while also growing new appreciation and fondness of nature’s treasures. That’s why we have invited these designers to create 20 original pieces of natural diamond jewellery with the theme of Nature. These exquisite-designed jewelleries are mysteriously embedded in the “Natural Diamond Wonderland” for people to explore and appreciate.”
